Today, 31 October 2026, is the last day for fresh applications under the UP Scholarship Dashmottar scheme — the scholarship for students studying after Class 12 in graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, B.Ed and other courses. Not applied yet? This guide tells you what to do in the next few hours. Already applied? Do not close this page — your next three steps (hard copy, status check and correction) decide whether the money actually reaches your bank account.
⏰ Last date today: Fresh Dashmottar applications close tonight, 31 October 2026, on the official portal scholarship.up.gov.in. Apply only on this portal. As of this morning, no official extension has been announced — read the extension section below before you wait for one.

Class 9–12 students: your fresh and renewal windows have already closed. Renewal payments are being sent between 25 and 31 October 2026, and fresh applicants are scheduled to be paid between 25 and 31 January 2027. Your job now is only status check and correction — both are explained below.
Has the Last Date Been Extended?
Every year students wait for an extension, and every year many students lose the scholarship because of that wait. Here is the honest position:
- As of the morning of 31 October 2026, the department has not announced any extension of the Dashmottar fresh last date.
- In some past years, dates for some categories were extended by a few days. That is the department's decision — never promised in advance.
- If an extension comes, it will first appear as a notice on scholarship.up.gov.in. Trust only that notice. We will update this guide the same day any official extension appears.
Simple rule: if you are eligible and your documents are ready, apply today. Do not gamble your scholarship on a rumour.
Who Can Still Apply Today — and How
You can still apply today if you are a fresh applicant in a Dashmottar course — graduation, post-graduation, diploma (including polytechnic), ITI, B.Ed, BTC or another recognised course after Class 12 — and you have not submitted the form yet. Renewal and Class 9–12 windows are already closed.
Steps to apply today
- Open scholarship.up.gov.in and complete One Time Registration (OTR) first, if you have not done it. OTR uses Aadhaar e-KYC on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and gives you an OTR number.
- Go to Student Registration and choose the Fresh application for Post-Matric Other Than Intermediate (Dashmottar). Select your correct category and course level.
- Fill the form slowly. Details are pulled and verified through DigiLocker and Aadhaar, so your name and date of birth must match your Aadhaar card exactly.
- Enter your bank account details carefully. The account must be in your own name and seeded with Aadhaar — the scholarship is paid by DBT into the Aadhaar-linked account.
- Upload clear scanned copies of your documents (list below) and lock / finally submit the form before the portal closes tonight.
- Take the final printout (by 2 November) and submit the hard copy with document copies to your institute by 4 November 2026. Without the hard copy, your institute cannot verify and forward your form.
How to Check Your Application Status
Submitting the form is not the end — it passes through your institute, the district office and NIC scrutiny. Check your status every few days:
- Open scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Click the Status tab on the top menu and open Application Status for the year 2026-27.
- Enter your registration number and date of birth, fill the captcha, and click Search.
- Your current stage appears on the screen — for example, submitted, verified by institute, forwarded, verified, defective, or payment released.
- Save a screenshot of the status page for your records.
Correction Window — What the Timetable Says
Good news: the official timetable already carries a correction stage, so a small mistake does not have to kill your scholarship. This is how it works:
- First, NIC checks all the data (scrutiny). Data that looks wrong or doubtful is flagged, and the reason shows in your status / scrutiny result.
- Then the correction (rectification) period opens. For renewal students: 21 November to 20 December 2026. For fresh Dashmottar students: scrutiny 26 November – 5 December, correction 6 to 31 December 2026.
- To correct: log in with your registration number, date of birth and password, open your scrutiny result, use the modify application option, fix the details and submit again. Correction is free.
- After correcting, take a fresh printout and submit it to your institute again for verification.
- Some things cannot be changed, such as a verified Aadhaar number or registered mobile number. Read the portal instructions carefully.
Keep checking your status from mid-November. If your data is flagged and you sleep through the correction window, the form can be rejected — and forms cleared after correction are paid only in the second payment round (27–31 January 2027 for fresh students).
"Pending" and "Defective" — What These Status Words Mean
- Pending at Institute: your college or school has not verified your form yet. Meet the scholarship clerk or nodal officer with your printout and documents. Do not just wait.
- Forwarded: your institute has checked and sent your form ahead to the district level. A good sign — keep watching the status.
- Defective / Suspect Data: something does not match — a name difference between Aadhaar and marksheet, a wrong bank detail, or an unclear document. Read the reason shown and fix it in the correction window above.
- Verified / Approved: your form has passed checking. Now wait for your category's payment window.
- Rejected: the form has been refused, usually for wrong data, wrong category or missing documents. If a correction stage is still open for your category, use it at once with your institute's help.
How to Track the Payment on PFMS
The scholarship money is transferred by DBT. The portal shows your application stage; the actual payment is tracked on PFMS:
- Open pfms.nic.in.
- Click "Know Your Payments".
- Enter your bank name and your account number (the Aadhaar-seeded account), fill the captcha and search.
- You can see whether the payment order has been made and sent to your bank. PFMS can take a few working days to show a payment after the portal shows it as released.
Remember: money goes only to the Aadhaar-linked bank account. If your bank account is not seeded with Aadhaar, visit your bank and get the seeding done now, before the payment windows open.
Documents Checklist for Fresh Applicants
- Aadhaar card and an Aadhaar-linked mobile number
- OTR (One Time Registration) number
- Income certificate of parent / guardian (current)
- Caste certificate, where applicable (SC / ST / OBC)
- UP domicile / residence certificate
- Marksheet of the last qualifying examination
- Current-year fee receipt and the non-refundable fee amount
- Admission proof / enrolment number (bonafide certificate or ID)
- Bank passbook of an account in your own name, seeded with Aadhaar
- Recent passport-size photograph (scanned, clear)
7 Mistakes That Get Forms Rejected
- Name mismatch: your name is spelled differently in Aadhaar, marksheet and bank account. Keep one spelling — the Aadhaar one — everywhere.
- Someone else's bank account: using a parent's or friend's account. The account must be yours and Aadhaar-seeded.
- Wrong category or course: choosing the wrong scholarship type (Pre-Matric / Post-Matric / Dashmottar) or the wrong course level.
- Old or wrong income certificate: an expired certificate, or income filled differently from the certificate.
- Blurry uploads: unclear photos or documents that the verifier cannot read.
- Only online submit, no hard copy: the form is not complete until the printout with documents reaches your institute (by 4 November for fresh Dashmottar).
- Missing the correction window: data gets flagged, the student never checks status, and the form dies quietly. Check your status regularly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I am in a diploma (polytechnic) course. Am I a Dashmottar student?
Yes. Diploma, ITI, graduation, post-graduation, B.Ed and other courses after Class 12 come under Post-Matric Other Than Intermediate — Dashmottar. Fresh applications close today, 31 October 2026.
Q. I applied, but I have not given the hard copy to my college. Is my form complete?
No. Take the final printout and submit it with copies of your documents to your institute by 4 November 2026. Your institute verifies and forwards the form only after receiving the hard copy.
Q. My status shows "Defective". Will my scholarship stop?
Not if you act in time. Read the reason shown in the status, and correct the data in the correction window (for fresh Dashmottar students, 6–31 December 2026). After correction, submit the new printout to your institute.
Q. When will the money come to my account?
As per the official timetable: fresh Dashmottar — first window 21–31 December 2026, and forms cleared after correction are paid in the second round, 27–31 January 2027. Renewal — 1–10 December 2026 and 16–25 January 2027. Track the actual credit on PFMS under "Know Your Payments".
Q. I missed the last date. What can I do now?
If you are a fresh Dashmottar student, watch the notice section of scholarship.up.gov.in — an extension, if any, will appear there first, and we will update this guide. If you already applied, use this time to complete the hard copy, verification and correction steps properly.
Q. Is there any fee for correction?
No. Correction in the official window is free. Also, applying on the portal is free — never pay any agent or shop to "get your scholarship done".
