Indian Constitution — What This Subject Is About
Indian Constitution is the one subject in your diploma that is not about wires and machines — it is about the country those machines serve. It gives a comprehensive understanding of the Indian Constitution's history and philosophy, and familiarises you with the administrative structure, powers and functions of the Union, State and Local governments, along with the Judiciary and Election Commission.
There are six units: the Constitution's introduction, the Union Government, the Indian Legislature and Judiciary, the State Government, Local Administration, and the Election Commission. The first three units carry 20% each. Note the marks carefully: this is an audit course marked (Q) — 50 marks internal, 0 credits. Passing is compulsory, but the marks are not counted for your percentage or division, so do not ignore it and do not over-weight it either.
