BTEUP Civil Complete Syllabus 2026-27 — 5th & 6th Semester (All Subjects)

One Complete Syllabus — 5th and 6th Semester

This is the complete BTEUP Diploma in Civil Engineering syllabus for session 2026-27, third year — the full 5th semester (850 marks, 20 credits) and the full 6th semester (650 marks, 20 credits), all 16 subjects in one place. Download the whole thing as one PDF below, or pick any single subject from the table.

The syllabus is the updated NEP-2020 curriculum, approved by the Board of Technical Education, UP in its meeting on 16 July 2026. Two discrepancies in the official PDF are recorded honestly in the notes below: the 6th-semester total row's internal/external split does not match its subject rows, and the 6.4 Project internal assessment criteria add up to 290, not the printed 240. Nothing here has been silently “fixed” — please confirm with your own polytechnic for any local changes.

5th Semester At A Glance

A total of 850 marks and 20 credits. The heaviest subjects are Transportation Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering — 200 marks each, theory plus lab. Estimating Costing and Valuation and Design of Steel Structure and Drawing are 100 marks each. You choose one Program Elective-1 (Green Building or Repair and Maintenance of Building, 100 marks) and one Open Elective-01 (Disaster Management or Project Management, 50 marks internal only, not counted in the total). Indian Constitution is a qualifying audit course — 50 marks internal, not counted. Summer Internship-II and SCA add 150 marks.

Code Subject Type Credits Marks
5.1 Transportation Engineering Theory 2 100
5.7 Transportation Engineering Lab. Practical 2 100
5.2 Estimating Costing and Valuation Practicum/Theory 3 100
5.3 Geotechnical Engineering Theory 2 100
5.8 Geotechnical Engineering Lab. Practical 2 100
5.4 Design of Steel Structure and Drawing Practicum/Theory 3 100
5.5 Program Elective-1: Green Building and Energy Conservation Theory 2 100
5.5 Program Elective-1: Repair and Maintenance of Building Theory 2 100
5.6 Open Elective-01: Disaster Management Theory 2 NA
5.6 Open Elective-01: Project Management Theory 2 NA
5.9 Indian Constitution (Q) Audit Course — —
5.10 Summer Internship-II (4–6 weeks after IVth Sem.) Internship 2 100*
— Student Centred Activities (SCA) Activity — 50
Total (5th Semester) 20 850 marks

Note: the semester total of 850 marks excludes the 50 internal marks of Open Elective-01 (5.6) and the 50 internal marks of Indian Constitution (Q) (5.9), both marked “NA” / “—” in the scheme. The internship total is printed with an asterisk (100*) in the official scheme, exactly as shown here.

6th Semester At A Glance

A total of 650 marks and 20 credits. The Project is 400 marks and 12 credits — more than half the semester. Construction Management or Advance Construction Technology (Program Elective-02) is 100 marks and 4 credits, Entrepreneurship and Start-up is 100 marks and 2 credits, and SCA adds 50 marks. Open Elective-02 (Renewable Energy Technology or Energy Conservation and Audit) is 50 marks internal only and is not counted in the total. Note: the 6th-semester total row as printed in the official PDF says internal 310 / external 390, but the subject rows add up to internal 370 / external 280 — the total of 650 marks matches the subject rows, so the printed internal/external split is unreliable.

Code Subject Type Credits Marks
6.1 Program Elective-02: Construction Management Theory 4 100
6.1 Program Elective-02: Advance Construction Technology Theory 4 100
6.2 Entrepreneurship and Start-up Theory 2 100
6.3 Open Elective-02: Renewable Energy Technology Theory 2 NA
6.3 Open Elective-02: Energy Conservation and Audit Theory 2 NA
6.4 Project (Industry Internship or Major Project) Practical 12 400
— Student Centred Activities (SCA) Activity — 50
Total (6th Semester) 20 650 marks

Note: the 6th-semester total row as printed in the official PDF says internal 310 / external 390, but the subject rows add up to internal 370 / external 280. The total of 650 marks matches the subject rows, so the printed internal/external split is unreliable.
