BTEUP Odd Semester Exam 2026-27 (1st, 3rd, 5th Sem): Expected Dates, Admit Card, Date Sheet, Exam Pattern
The BTEUP odd semester examinations for session 2026-27 — 1st, 3rd and 5th semester of the Diploma in Engineering — are due in November–December 2026. This page brings together everything a student needs in one place: the expected schedule, the admit card window, how the date sheet will be released, the exam pattern, and a preparation plan built on the verified 2026-27 syllabus. Read the honest note first: the official date sheet has not been released by BTEUP yet (checked 28 October 2026; the board's website bteup.ac.in is currently unreachable). Every date below is therefore marked expected, not confirmed. This page will be updated the moment the board publishes the official date sheet.

Important: What Is Confirmed and What Is Not
Confirmed: the odd semester examinations cover the 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters of session 2026-27, and the syllabus for these semesters is the official BTEUP 2026-27 curriculum (NEP-2020, approved 16.07.2026 where verified) — the same syllabus published on this website, subject by subject. Not confirmed: no official date sheet, no official exam start date, and no official admit card release date has been published by BTEUP yet. The board usually releases the date sheet about a month before the examinations, and the admit card about a week before them. The dates in the table below come from education portals tracking the board, and they agree with each other — but they are not the board's own announcement, so treat them as a planning guide, not a promise.
Expected Schedule — Odd Semester 2026-27
| Event | Expected Date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Admit card release | 1–5 November 2026 | Expected |
| Practical examinations | November 2026 | Expected |
| Theory examinations begin | December 2026 (some reports suggest around 15 November) | Expected — 15 November is discussed, not confirmed |
| Theory examinations end | December 2026 | Expected |
| Official date sheet release | Not released yet (expected before the exams) | Awaited |
Why two different months? BTEUP traditionally holds the practical examinations first (in November) and the theory papers after them (in December). Some reports suggest the theory papers may begin around 15 November 2026 — that date is being discussed widely, but no official notice confirms it, and the date has been changed before in past sessions. Plan your preparation for mid-November, and check this page again once the date sheet is out.
Who Appears in the Odd Semester Exams
All diploma students in the 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters of session 2026-27 — every engineering branch (Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical and the rest), since the 1st year is common for all 41 engineering branches. The 2nd, 4th and 6th semester (even semester) examinations are a separate cycle, held in the summer. Only students who have submitted the examination form with the fee, and who meet the minimum attendance requirement of their institute, can appear.
Exam Pattern — What the Papers Look Like
The odd semester examination has three parts: theory papers (written examination), practical / practicum examinations (laboratory work, workshop and project work, examined in the institute), and internal assessment (sessionals and assignments through the semester). The exact marks and credits for your semester are in the verified 2026-27 scheme — see the table below for the odd semesters. Subjects marked (Q) are qualifying: you must appear and pass them, but their marks are not counted in your percentage or division.
Odd Semester Totals (Verified 2026-27 Scheme)
| Branch | 1st Sem (Marks / Credits) | 3rd Sem (Marks / Credits) | 5th Sem (Marks / Credits) |

| Computer Science & Engineering | — | 800 / 21 | 550 / 20 (excluding qualifying) |
| Civil Engineering | — | 1000 / 20 | 850 / 20 |
| Electrical Engineering | — | 600 / 20 | 650 / 20 |

Admit Card — When and How to Download
The admit card is expected to be released online between 1 and 5 November 2026, about a week before the examinations. It is downloaded from the board's website, bteup.ac.in, through the student (ESeva) login. The full step-by-step guide — with what to check on the card and what to do if a detail is wrong — is in our separate post: BTEUP Admit Card 2026: How to Download the Odd Semester Hall Ticket. Carry a printed copy of the admit card, your college identity card, and one valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar card, Voter ID, PAN card, Driving Licence or College ID) to the examination centre. Without the admit card, you will not be allowed to sit for the paper.
Preparation Plan — The Last Few Weeks
1. Study from the official syllabus only. The 2026-27 syllabus for your branch and semester is published here, subject by subject, with unit-wise topics — use it as your checklist and do not study from old (2024-25) lists. 2. Practical first. Practical examinations come first, so finish your lab records, files and workshop jobs before the theory papers begin. 3. Previous papers. Solve the last two years' question papers for each theory subject, in the time the paper allows. 4. Qualifying subjects. Do not ignore the (Q) subjects — you must pass them even though their marks do not count. 5. Admit card and documents. Download the admit card the day it is released, check every detail (name, roll number, subjects, centre), and keep the printed copy with your photo ID ready. 6. Check the date sheet. The moment BTEUP releases the official date sheet, this page will carry it — check back here, and check bteup.ac.in directly.
