यूनिट 1 — Introduction to Information Security (8 पीरियड, 20%)
Information security का परिचय; information security के विभिन्न पहलू (PAIN); operating systems की security विशेषताएँ — authentication, logs, audit features, file system protection, user privileges, RAID options, anti-virus software आदि।
Security क्यों ज़रूरी है, और operating systems में पहले से बनी सुरक्षा — passwords, logs, permissions और anti-virus।
यूनिट 2 — Security Weaknesses in Networks (10 पीरियड, 22%)
लोकप्रिय networking protocols में security कमज़ोरियाँ समझना — IP, TCP, UDP, RIP, OSPF, HTTP, SMTP आदि; सामान्य networking devices में security कमज़ोरियाँ — hub, switch, router, WiFi; networking protocols (IPSec, HTTPS आदि) और devices (VLAN, VPN, ingress filtering आदि) के security जोखिम को कम करने के security समाधान।
Networks कहाँ कमज़ोर हैं — उनके protocols और उनके boxes में — और उन्हें सुरक्षित करने वाले मानक उपाय।
यूनिट 3 — Cryptography and Secure Development (8 पीरियड, 20%)
Cryptography की बुनियादी बातें; PKI; software बनाते समय security पर विचार।
गुप्त लेखन सही तरीके से: encryption, public-key infrastructure (सुरक्षित websites अपनी पहचान कैसे साबित करती हैं), और ऐसा software लिखना जो attackers के लिए रास्ते न खोले।
यूनिट 4 — Network Security Products (8 पीरियड, 20%)
Network security products — firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN concentrator, content screening gateways आदि।
Network की रक्षा करने वाले security उपकरण: firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPN concentrators और content filters।
यूनिट 5 — Security Standards, Audit and Policy (8 पीरियड, 18%)
Security standards का परिचय — ISO 27001, Indian IT Act, IPR laws; security audit प्रक्रियाएँ; security policies बनाना; disaster recovery; business continuity planning।
इस पेशे के नियम: अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानक, भारतीय कानून, किसी system की audit कैसे करें, security policy कैसे लिखें, और कोई संगठन आपदा के बाद कैसे उबरता है।
प्रैक्टिकल कार्य
- Windows operating system में दी गई security का अध्ययन करना।
- Password recovery utility (John the Ripper) या किसी अन्य utility का उपयोग करके Windows machines का password प्राप्त करना।
- Email trace tool का उपयोग करके किसी email का स्रोत पता लगाना।
- अपने system को सुरक्षित रखने के लिए keylogger और anti-keylogger का उपयोग करना।
- Simple transposition — permutation (CrypTool) का उपयोग करके किसी संदेश को encrypt और decrypt करना।
- Variable key वाले Caesar Cipher (CrypTool) से किसी संदेश को encrypt और decrypt करना; 3×3 Hill Cipher (CrypTool) से किसी संदेश को encrypt और decrypt करना।
