Disaster Management — यह विषय किस बारे में है
बाढ़, भूकंप, चक्रवात, औद्योगिक दुर्घटनाएँ — जब आपदा आती है, तो किसी को यह जानना होता है कि उससे पहले, उसके दौरान और उसके बाद क्या करना है। Disaster Management आपको विभिन्न प्रकार की प्राकृतिक और मानव निर्मित आपदाओं, आपदा से पहले और बाद के प्रबंधन, भारत में आपदा प्रबंधन में शामिल संगठनों, और उसमें इस्तेमाल होने वाले तकनीकी उपकरणों के बारे में सिखाता है। यह Open Elective-1, Option 2 है: आप यह विषय या Engineering Economics & Accountancy चुनते हैं, या कम से कम 20 घंटे का certification course।

Unit – III: Disaster Management Cycle and Framework (08 Periods, 28%)
Disaster Management Cycle – Paradigm Shift in Disaster Management; Pre-Disaster – Risk Assessment and Analysis, Risk Mapping, zonation and Microzonation, Prevention and Mitigation of Disasters, Early Warning System; Preparedness, Capacity Development; Awareness; During Disaster – Evacuation – Disaster Communication – Search and Rescue – Emergency Operation Centre – Incident Command System – Relief and Rehabilitation – Post-disaster – Damage and Needs Assessment, Restoration of Critical Infrastructure – Early Recovery – Reconstruction and Redevelopment; IDNDR, Yokohama Stretegy, Hyogo Framework of Action.
