In House Project — What This Subject Is About
The In House Project is the biggest single subject of the whole diploma — 400 marks and 12 credits, more than half of the 6th semester. It is where you apply, in totality, the knowledge and skills you have gained through the course work: programming, databases, web technologies, networks and everything else, brought together to solve one real problem or build one working project.
There is no fixed syllabus of units to memorise here. You identify the type of project you would like to execute — a customer-based application, a dynamic website, a database application or a software product — at least two to three months in advance, and a teacher guides your work. Projects done in collaboration with industry are preferred, and each teacher guides 5–6 students.
Subject 6.3 (Project) • Total 400 Marks • 12 Credits • L 4 – P 16 • 6th Semester — Computer Science & Engineering • Session 2026–27

How the Project Works
The individual students have different aptitudes and strengths. Project work, therefore, should match the strengths of students. For this purpose, students should be asked to identify the type of project work they would like to execute. It is also essential that the faculty of the respective department may have a brainstorming to identify suitable project assignments for their students. The project assignment can be an individual assignment or a group assignment. There should not be more than 3 students if the project work is given to a group. The students should identify themselves or accept the given project assignment at least two to three months in advance. The project work identified in collaboration with industry should be preferred. Each teacher is expected to guide the project work of 5–6 students.
