BTEUP Electrical Complete Syllabus 2026-27 — 5th & 6th Semester (All Subjects) — Overview

This is the complete BTEUP Electrical Engineering syllabus for the final year — 5th and 6th semesters, session 2026-27 — in one place: all 14 subjects plus both semester examination schemes, with units, practicals, books and marks. The 5th semester (650 marks, 20 credits) covers switchgear and protection, solar power or traction, energy audit, testing or illumination, the Indian Constitution, estimation and contracting, and the 6-week internship. The 6th semester (650 marks, 20 credits) is built around the 400-mark In-House Project, with building electrification, entrepreneurship and an open elective.

Every subject below links to its own detailed post with a free PDF download. Two honest notes: the official curriculum gives no detailed syllabus for the In-House Project — no units, practicals or books — so that post contains only the scheme figures; and the Building Electrification and Energy Conservation and Audit posts record the period mismatches found in the official document rather than guessing. This is the updated NEP-2020 curriculum for 2026-27, approved by BTEUP in the C.D.C. meeting held on 16.07.2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many subjects are covered in the 5th and 6th semesters?
14 subjects: 9 in the 5th semester (including the internship and SCA) and 5 in the 6th semester (including the In-House Project), plus the two semester examination schemes.

How many total marks are the 5th and 6th semesters worth?
650 marks and 20 credits each — 1,300 marks across the final year. Qualifying subjects (Indian Constitution in the 5th semester, Open Elective-3 in the 6th) are extra and do not count towards percentage.

Which is the biggest subject of the final year?
The In-House Project in the 6th semester: 400 marks and 12 credits (L 4 – P 16).

Which subjects are qualifying (Q) in the final year?
Indian Constitution (5.5) in the 5th semester, and Open Elective-3 (6.4) — Project Management or Internet of Things — in the 6th semester. Both are 50 marks internal; passing is compulsory, but the marks do not count for percentage or division.

Why is there no unit list for the In-House Project?
Because the official curriculum contains no detailed syllabus section for it — the contents list jumps from 6.2 to the Open Elective-3 section. No units, practicals or books are listed anywhere, so none are invented here.

How can I download the subject-wise syllabus PDFs?
Use the download link in the Download section below for the combined PDF, or open any subject post from the Related Syllabus Posts list — each subject post has its own PDF download.
